**A fix was applied for this issue on February 23. The issue has been resolved.**
Java recently released an update, version 1.7u51. Blackboard is not yet fully compatible with this version of Java. Upgrading Java on your computer to this version will cause the Multiple File Uploads feature in Blackboard to fail. Click here to check your Java version.
Blackboard is aware of the issue and is working on a patch, which is currently estimated to be released by February. Once available, ITS will schedule to apply the patch to Blackboard at the earliest time possible in accordance with our standard maintenance window. Status updates will be posted here as we receive information from Blackboard.
There are two options if your Java has already been updated:
1. Use the Single File Upload feature instead of the Multiple File Upload.
2. Roll back Java to 1.7u45, the version prior to the current release.
Please contact the IT Service Desk at 314-977-4000 with any questions or concerns.
***The maintenance was completed by 9:30 a.m on February 23.***
Blackboard Learn will be unavailable from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 23 while ITS performs server maintenance.
Tegrity Recordings can still be viewed during the Blackboard maintenance period by logging in directly at slu.tegrity.com. Until the maintenance is complete, logging in to Tegrity will take longer than normal and your courses will display on the “Archived Courses” tab in Tegrity.
If you prepare the Tegrity Recorder on your computer in advance to work 'offline', new recordings can be created during the Blackboard maintenance period. Directions can be found at the Tegrity support page on the ITS website.
Please contact the IT Service Desk at 314-977-4000 with any questions.
